How to Elevate Guests’ Experience When Planning Meetings
September 13, 2018
A long-time friend and business acquaintance, Nancy Nachman, founder and chief connecting officer, The Meetings Concierge, recently identified a number of tips in her newsletter on how to elevate guests’ experience when planning meetings. I thought she posed some excellent suggestions and asked Nancy if I could share them with my audiences – and she said “yes.” So, here they are ….. If you have others and wish to share and add to the list, I welcome your suggestions.
“Let’s face it. Travel has lost some of its shiny glamour; when your guests arrive at the hotel for the meetings you’ve planned give them some TLC. Elevate the welcome experience with these minimal cost ideas to make your guests happy to be there.
Be present at the front desk to personally greet guests.
Prepare front desk agents with a company branded welcome message.
Set up a to-go snacks and drinks bar in a hospitality suite.
Text guests the WiFi login and password.
Engage hotel management to send a welcome amenity & personalized note to guests’ rooms.
Invite the hotel manager to the opening reception or first morning meeting to welcome the group.
At group departure ask the hotel manager be in the lobby to wish your guests a fond farewell as they depart.
A little recognition goes a long way and makes everyone feel special.”
Nancy and her business partner Leeann Philipssen use their extensive knowledge of and past experience working in the hotel industry to source and negotiate the meeting space and rates that best fit the meeting requirements of their customers. They use their time and resources to do what they do best, which in turn allows you as the planner to concentrate on all the other many details necessary to insure your meetings’ successes.
